There are now Extra GP appointments in the evenings and at weekends available to City and Hackney patients. The opening hours are 4pm - 8pm weekdays and 8am - 8pm weekends and Bank Holidays. Please refer to Extended Access page for more information.


Routine appointments: These are appointments that can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Each appointment is 10 mins long and can be booked at any time of the working day. Please note that there is currently an average wait of 2 weeks for a routine appointment, please plan your appointment to allow for this waiting time.

Emergency appointments: These appointments are available on the day and are for emergencies that cannot wait until a routine appointment. To book an emergency appointment in the morning session you must call at 8:00am. To book an afternoon emergency appointment please call at 2:00pm. Please note that these appointments are not for the signing of forms, non-urgent referrals or repeat prescriptions.

Telephone Consultations: These are telephone call-back appointments with a Doctor. These appointments are very limited and so to book a telephone consultation please call at 8:00am.

This service offers you quick access to your GP practice, where they know you and have your full medical record. We recommend this service instead of going to A&E at the hospital

  1. Phone the surgery and explain to reception that you have an urgent problem
  2. Reception can then put you on the Duty Doctor list
  3. The Duty Doctor will ring you back within 2 hours
  4. The Duty Doctor will decide with you what you need, which could be:
  • Advice over the phone
  • An appointment at the surgery
  • A home visit if you are really not well
  • A referral to another service
You can consult our GPs online and you will get a response back from the GP by the end of the next working day.

If you can’t keep your appointment, no longer need it or want to rearrange it, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can make your time slot available to other patient.
